Res Gestae refers to the events which make up a felony. It is also an exception to the hearsay rule. Usually you can not testify to something someone else says but under res Gestae doctrine a statement made at the same time as the act in question can be testified to by the third party. This will occur when the statement is spontaneous with no time to make it up, to show the persons state of mind or if the statement is part of the crime.
