Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
post dated checks
my girlfriend wrote 3 post dated checks for her business which was destroyed 8 yrs ago in a hurricane in order to keep it going for the rent the landlord said to do. They were 5000.00 a piece. She was arrested 7 yrs ago and skipped bond. They just caught up with her last week. will she get time? First offense.

Re: post dated checks
If she is going to state court and cam pay restitution, probably not.
That being said, the judge might not trust a person who was a fugitive for 7 years and might therefore lock her up. If she can pay the restitution before going to court it will improve her chances greatly.
