can i practice law with a pardon?

I pled guilty to a felony assult with a wepon when I was 19 years old in the state of LA. I recived an automatic first offenders pardon for that crime. I am a sophmore in college now and I plan on going to law school. Will I be able to practice law in any state or should I direct my educational and carrer goals elswere? I am 29 now so all of this happed about 10 yrs. ago and I now live in Mo.

I would love any and all help that you can give.

I don't see where you should have any problem because of the pardon. Of course, I assume every state has a process to determine fitness to practice law, and I suggest you contact an attorney in the state in which you plan to practice.

Check with your state's bar association. I don't think this will be a problem, but if it is then you might be able to convince the court that convicted you to expunge the conviction. A lawyer near that parish should be able to help.
