Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

Probation violation?

Someone I know has been violated by the probation officer however he has been cleared of the charges that were brought against him. How can he be violated once he has been cleared? Also, The Attorney hired was supposed to have taken care of all this? I just do not get this?

A person on probation has many terms and conditions to fulfill. If he violates his probation, it can be revoked. If the person doesn't voluntarily revoke himself, the State has to have a hearing and let the judge decide. If the criminal charges against the individual were dismissed or reduced to a misdemeanor, usually the P.O. will lift the hold.
