Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

Raw end of the stick

My daughter was sent to prison for theft under 500.00 and is going to serve 2 and a half years. The probation officer didnt like me for some reason in the past. I was wondering if there is such a thing as resentenceing? She has already served 1 and a half years.

The judge can choose to resentence her. It will probably take someone requesting the resentencing. If she got 30 months she should be eligible for parole soon (it depends on her record).

I am not clear about why there is a probation officer involved if you daughter is in prison. If she was sentences to 30 months and has done 18 months, it would appear that with good time, she should be out soon. Some facts are missing here I think.
