Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Rental
my ex purchased a laptop prior to our separation which she had said she brought for me but I refused it. almost a year later I have been contacted by a rental company saying that my name is on the contract as the primary purchaser & her name is secondary, I have not signed any contract deals nor have I ever made any payments on this laptop which I do not even have, but I have found out now that my name was signed onto this contract by my ex from the begining, is this forgery & how can I press charges for this matter? Please help.

Re: Rental
Unless she had your permission to sign your name, then it is forgery. Also, if she regularly signed your name on things during the marriage, she may have a defense. Call you local DA's office for guidance.
