Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Report or certification of trial outcome
Hello,
I am a Honduran National living in San Pedro Sula. In order to revalidate or renew my tourist visa I need to obtain the proof that I was discharged of a misdemeanor during my college days in Hammond, Louisiana (1982). The local consulate in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, has record of only the police report and not the court`s decision. What sholud I do to obtain the necessary documentation to present to the local consulate? Those with the legal weight to clear out my situation at the consulate and also inmigration systems.

You should be able to contact the Hammond City or tangipahoa Parish Clerk and get a certified copy of a minute entry entering a dismissal.

I don't know if this was in the District Court in Amite or the City Court (if Hammond has one) in Hammond. Either way the appropriate Court Clerk should have a record of what happened there.
