Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
rights
the tribal police came to my house to talk to my daughter I asked them do I need a lawyer and they said no. one of the officers read her rights to her after they left. they didn't bring her to jail they took her to another building to question her. she asked if she get a lawyer and they told her no because one of the men would assist her in court if she wrote a voluntary statement saying she took some money from the casino. they told her if she signed the paper she would be charged with a misdemeanor instead. what should she do?
