Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Simple Battery
I am scheduled for arraignment on May 17 and am charged with Simple Battery. I was never read my rights at the time of arrest. Should I hire a lawyer to represent me in this matter or is this just a matter of paying the fine.

Re: Simple Battery
You are charged with a crime which is punishable by up to six months in jail. I would hire a lawyer if I was accused.
