Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Simple Burgulary
My ex-boyfriend called the police on me and had me arrested after I took all my things out of his house, including a refrigerator and dryer that he paid more than half for. The appliances are under my name with the company; since I put the downpayment and financed them. He wants the items back. Who gets it?

Re: Simple Burgulary
Just off the top of my head, it seems that you both own them, no matter who paid for them. This appears to be a civil matter, not a criminal one. If you cannot agree, then a court will have to decide. I would truly think about a civil lawsuit against the boyfriend for having you arrested. You should take your evidence of whose name the note is in to the DA and ask that the charges be dropped.
