Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

my son got stop by the police because he and some freinds was in front of another freinds house and his mother doesnt want one of the boys in front of her house so my son said she was called the cop so they left , when they got farther down the road the cops pulled up on the side of them ask their names then they wanted to pat them down my son refused so he said one cop body slammed him to the ground handcuffed him his shoulder and knees are all scraped up and bruised while handcuffed the other police officer punched him witness said this occured what do i do about this situation

My advice is tell your son that a police officer in trying to do their job must protect themselves and therefore often pat down persons they stop in order to assure that the person does not have a weapon. I am sure had they personally known your son and the fact he was an outstanding citizen, they would not have done that. Once he refused, one might have thought he had something to hide, and they must protect themselves from preceived, if not real threats. Tell your son to let them pat him down and cooperate with the police. That is the easy way if he has nothing to hide.
