Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
I just stayed at The Hampton Inn in Metairie, LA for 1 night and accidentally left my 2 rings on one of the bedside tables before checkout. The hotel says they don't have the rings in the housekeeping safe and the housekeeper that cleaned my room denies seeing the rings. What legal action can I take?

You can (and should) file a police report, but it is unlikely you will get your rings back. It is simply your word against theirs and there is no real evidence that the housekeeper took your rings. Still, file the report. If you have insurance to cover the jewelry, your insurer will want a police report anyway.
