Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

suspected poisoning

My son's father recently passed away, under questionable sypmtoms.

Autopsy results have revealed antifreeze in his body.

Local authorities have contacted his present wife.

(the deceased and I split up around 1980 but have had a fairly good communicating relationship)

What happens now?

Re: suspected poisoning

What happens next is totally up to the District Attorney and his decision after the investigating agencies furnish their findings. Since you mentioned your continued "friendly" relationship with your ex, I suspect there is more to your question but am not sure what.

The police will conduct their investigation. If you or someone that you know has information that could lead to the killer (whether it is his wife or someone else), I'm sure that they will want that information.
