Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Is there a time limit that indicates that a person must be tried in a certain time frame. In cases of Aggravated rape or aggravated burglary.

There is no time limitation as to when a prosecution must begin for any crime where punishment is death or life imprisonment. Once the bill is filed, the prosecution has 3 years for capital cases unless the defendant absents himself from the jurisdiction or is declared insane.
