Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

What type of attorney do I need?

I'm not sure what type of attorney I need to contact. The help I'm in need of is someone to go to court with my son, he is the victim, and to make sure the defensive side doesn't do him wrong. Also, I need someone to make sure the people that are in the wrong are ALL prosecuted, even the accessors. Thanks so much!

Re: What type of attorney do I need?

An attorney representing the victim is not allowed to participate in a criminal proceeding. One who knows the prosecution may have the advantage of speaking with the DA but he cannot participate. If your son is going to sue the perpetrators, then you need a good personal injury attorney.

The prosecution is always controlled by the prosecutors. This will usually

be either the District Attorney's office or the State Attorney General's Office.

You can have a meeting with them to express your concerns but the decisions willl be theirs.

A good personal injury lawyer can help with your son's damages.
