unauthorize use of a movable

my husband was in his comp. van from jeff davis parish when he decided to go to lafayette for a binge. He left on a wednesday night, owner filed stolen van the following thursday, the lafayette police stopped him on sat. they set his bond at 5000 i bonded him but when i went to get him they said jennings had a hold on him they went got him bought him back and bond set at 45000. both charged same exact crime, can they do that? the only thing he was arreted for in the past 10 yrs was domestic battery i think, 10 + ys was bad checks how much time do u think he will get? could he get help with drug abuse than go to jail? if lafayette gives charges to jennings do i just lose the bond money r can that bond place use it for jennings bond?

Ultimately he should only be charged with theft in one parish (if at all). An experienced criminal lawyer can sort this out. More details will be needed to answer all of your questions.
