I know someone who wassentenced 10years does he have to do the whole ten years. he was charged with convicted felony with a firearm and possesion of marjuania with intent to distribute

The offense of Possession of a weapon by a convicted felon is punishable by 10 to 15 years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
