Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

White Collar Defense

I was a contractor for a non-profit financed by the local gov. The work involved cleaning, grass cutting and boarding homes. Its been alledged that some contractors were paid for work not completed or can be verified. Its been over a year and now the city wants proof that the work was done in a couple of cases or repay the money. There is also and federal investigation. Not sure how this can be done at this late date. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Re: White Collar Defense

It can be done and is being done. You need to get your receipts, or workers who did the work, or your logs to show when the work was done, or payroll records and the like. If the subject houses were cleaned then they should be close to the same condition. Those that were demolished are easy to show. Grass cutting is different, but I assume they had to be cut on a regular basis. You should contact a criminal lawyer in your area if you think they may try to charge you with something, whether it is a legitimate charge or not.
