Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Louisiana

Wrongfully Terminated

I was until today an employee at one one the nations largest wholesale warehouse outlets and was wrongfully terminated. I was told that a customer complained and was never given details on what the complaint was. In fact the store manager flat out refused to give me any information on the person complaining or the complaint itself. I found out on my own that the complaint came from my ex-husband's sister in law who hates me without cause with whom I have not spoken to in 18 years. She saw me at the store and decided to make a fraudulent complaint against me. What can I do? Can I sue the company or her, and what is the proceedure?

Re: Wrongfully Terminated

Louisiana has fire at will, which means that unless the firing falls within a prohibited status, or category, you can fire someone for any reason. However, if your ex-whatever lied and that lie cost you your job, you do have recourse against the liar. You may be able to get your job back if the employee manual was not followed.
