Dui, 1st offense
I had a clean driving record until sept. 27 when i received my 1st dwi. I am enrolling in the d.A.'s 1st offense course and was wondering if it is worth requesting a hearing about my license suspension or is it pretty much a waste of time and i should just apply for a ''hardship'' license? Thanks. Chris corte

My personal opinion is get the hardship license and don't drink and drive. Unless you are not guilty, then it pretty much is a waste of time. Good luck.

This is one of those rare times when I must disagree with my friend, Nick Pizzolatto.
An administrative hearing costs only the prfice of subpoenaeing the officers. You can win if there is a technical error. You can win if the arresting officer fails to show up. On rare occasions you can win on the merits.
$40.00 is cheap compared to high risk insurance & hardship fees. If you lose you've only lost the $40.00 and an hour of your time and you can still apply for the hardship license.
Also, if your DA's program leads to a dismissal or reduction you might be able to bypass suspension altogether.
