DUI out of town
I received my first and only DUI ever. It was not in my residential town. Should I seek an attorney from the town I reside in, or an attorney from the town/Parish of the arrest?

Where you are charged. While attorneys are admitted to practice statewide, an attorney from your hometown would likely charge you travel time to and from court in another parish, which would make the cost too much. Unless your home parish is very close to the parish where you were arrested (within 20 miles or so), or unless you have a lawyer in your hometown that is willing to travel for you, you are much better off looking for a lawyer in the parish where the trial will be held.
