Medicaid benefits
What assets are considered when determining an elder person's elgibility for medicare in a nursing facility? What is the look back period in Louisiana? If a person's only asset is a paid off home would that be liened commensurate to the value of the beneifts that Medicaid provides prior to the death of the elder?

Not a simple question, but, in general, a residence, an auto used for medical purposes, a burial plot, and $2,000.00 in cash.
The lookback period is five years, in all states.
Medicaid is entitled to a lien against the residence of a person who receives Medicaid benefits.
