Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
I have 21 acres of inherited property that was donated to me by my father while I was married. Cows were on the property before inherited and we kept cows on property after inheritance. I am now filing for divorce and my ex-husband wants me to pay him half for the fence wire, posts, wire clamps, etc. These materials were already on property but there were reparis done periodically throughout 24 years and no improvements were done since the separation. Do I really have to pay him half and how do you figure depreciation of material?

If community property was used to pay for, improve or increase the value of separate property of a spouse, then at the time of partition of the community, the other spouse would have a claim for some reimbursement. There are many variables that would affect what, if any, reimbursement there is.
