Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I am 7 months pregnant, 19 yrs old with no job, no car, and no support from the father. I have decided adoption would be the best way for my unborn child to have the best opportunities in life, but the father disagrees although he has no job, no car, already has a child he does not care for and hardly sees, how can I prove he will be an unfit father and terminate his rights?

An adoption is the most unselfish act a woman can take. You should pick an attorney who is an expert in adoptions and let him handle everything. Should you have the child and sign a surrender of your rights, if the adoption cannot take place, then your surrender is null and you are in the same position as if you had never signed one. So, if you go through with your part and the father objects and a court decides the adoption cannot happen, you would still preserve your rights to the child. Then, the best interest of the child would be decided as between you and the father.
