Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My 26 year old daughter is not able to care for her toddler son and would like my husband and I to have custody so that we can make all legal decisions for our grandson. No father is named on the birth certificate and no one has come forward to declare himself as such. Can we prepare a custody order for the judge in Louisiana without using an attorney?

You can get a notarized provisional custody agreement or you can file for custody and then prepare a stipulated judgment where all parties sign the agreement of custody.
