Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My 3 year old daughter's father lives in Tennessee and my daughter and I live in Louisiana. He and I are not together and have never been married but he is on the birth certificate. He has been paying me $200/ month since she was born (not court ordered). He recently graduated from college and will not look for a better job. He work part time at a front dest at a hotel. He refuses to pay me more but yet I see that he goes on vacations all the time and does whatever he wants while I struggle. If I went to court, could I get more money? And if he retaliated with filing for custody, do you think he would get it?

The La courts will have jurisdiction. The child support is set by statute based on both incomes and the number of children. Because of the job problem nationwide, the court won't force him to seek different employment.
