Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My 34 yr old son is incarcerated. He and my 4 1/2 yr old grand daughter's mother were never married. She has not allowed me to see my grand daughter for over a year. Can I be awarded visitation during the time he is incarcerated? What about after (he's only in Parish jail for about 30 days).

You can't get visitation if he is in jail for only 30 days.
