Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
What is the age of majority in Louisiana? Does it vary for different areas (e.g., informed consent, consenting to psychological treatment, quiting school)?

18 is the age of majority. There are some things that can affect that, such as being emancipated or being a ward of the state. Also, there are some decisions that a person under 18 can still make for themselves (such as the age of consent for sex, which is 17, I believe). Nevertheless, one is legally a minor until they reach 18 and everything you mentioned is still controlled by the parents, not the child. None of that can be done except through the parents until the child reaches 18.
