Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
agreement to give up claim to residence
My spouse is fairly uncooperative, mostly because of denial. But, I would like to print out a document stating that in the event of separation/divorce, he would agree to relinquish his rights and allow me & 2 young daughters to remain in our home for sake of the kid's stability. He has stated on occasion that he wouldn't ''fight me'' for the house. What should such a document say and is the next step a notary?

I am not sure whether you can execute a document that is conditioned upon an event that may never happen. However, he can donate his portion of the house to you, make it your separate property and that should take care of the matter.
