Appointed Lawyers
Are appointed lawyers only for criminal cases or can they be use for any case or situation?

Court appointed lawyers are for criminal & quasi-criminal matters only.

The Attorney is appointed for the specific situation. For instance, if one is appointed to represent someone charged with a criminal offense, that is the only thing he is paid to do. If he is appointed to represent a child or parent in a child in need of care case, then that is what he is paid to do. He could represent the parent in any other matter he wants, but his appointment will not pay he for that representation, nor is his appointment to the parent for any other matter.
