awarded one-half interest in the home we bought before diviorce

how do I request that I want to sell my half. when i live in another state.

That will be by the terms of the settlement agreement as entered in the divorce. You need to consult an attorney. There are too many issues to answer this question in this forum. Generally, if you own interest in real estate and want your portion you have to file an equitable partition action in the superior court where the property is located.
