Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
I am asking on behalf of a friend. She is a CT resident legally at this point. However her abusive husband forced her to move to Louisiana, where the rest of his family who are emotionally abusive (some of them anyway) are trying to take her kids away from her, making her live in a separate house apart from the kids with absurd justifications. At any rate she has been recording alot of things and has a fair amount of evidence of the emotional abuse. Mostly him half assedly apologizing for what he did. along with a few other things that demonstrate his behavior. But its there. At any rate she is in a desperate situation and no one seems to be able to help. In a couple of months she found out they (his family) will be filing to take the kids away from her legally. Legal Aid has been useless and no one seems to have answers for her. Since she is technically a CT resident still as are her 4 kids. I hope someone here has an answer. I will relay it back to her since I help in that sense. Please note that I am posting this on her behalf. Thanks.

If you are a true friend, you should gather other friends and hire a high powered attorney to represent your friend. Otherwise, she is toast. She could go to child protection, but if the inlaw-family is against her to the extent you say, that will not help. Until she fights with equal munitions, she will lose. All this forced her to do this and that and a friend writing this will do her no good. If you and anyone else really cares about her, put $5,000 together and hire someone. If you are not that good of a friend, ask the taxpayers to pay for it by going to legal aid or child protection. But expect what you pay for.
