Beneficiary responsibility
If a parent passes, and the cost of the funeral is paid by the decest in essence because the money used was in mother's name and one of the daughers in lieu of the policies, clearing. Can a sibling who learns that she is the beneficiary on two of the policies decide that she is not going to reimburse for the cost of the funeral?

Yes. A beneficiary on the Insurance policy is not responsible for the debts of the succession since the proceeds of an insurance policy belongs exclusively to the beneficiaries. The cost of the funeral is a debt of the succession not of the individual heirs and will be taken out of the succession property.
