Bringing my son to live with me

My son--name removed--mother has him living with a lady that does not want him there. He has called me several times stating that he wants me to come get him so he can live with me. His mother is very vendictive and just because he wants to come with me she will go get him and move him to where I cannot find him. My son is 16 can I just go get him?

You need to file to change custody.
