Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

name change

the man listed on my grandson birth record is not his biological dad.we had a dna test done with the man we thought was his dad and he is. man listed on the birth record has not seen child in 5 years and never paid child support.do we need a lawyer for name change. he does not want child's name changed. child is 12 years old and never wanted to be called by that name.

Re: name change

Sounds like a paternity action should be filed so that the real father becomes the legally bound father. Why not an adoption? Either by you or the father.
