Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

change of visitation due to child's age

My children are 12 and 14. Ex is in CA. visitation is 6 weeks in summer plus alternating holidays. He has not taken any of the holidays. I have been forcing the children to do this for 8 years despite tears and phone calls and horrendous living conditions. They are at a point, due to age, where they simply have other things they want to include in their summer - computer camps for certification, football. Soon they will also want jobs, have girlfriends - 6 weeks and only once a year is simply not beneficial. At what point might a judge in LA (Terrebonne/Lafourche/St. Mary - it's been messy) take those things into consideration and modify a visitation arrangement or is 6 weeks until 18 the norm??

Re: change of visitation due to child's age

Asking a Virginia lawyer California law wont work. But as a favorite judge of mine in the area says "once they have car keys in their hand you shouldn't expect to see them anymore except to get fed." I can't imagine a California judge would feel any different.
