Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

child custody

I live in louisiana. I signed over my paretnal rights to my baby fathers. The paper was not notorized but he got a witness to signed it. I got the baby back within 3 days. I had him every since. Will the letter hold up. If we go to court or if the police get involved.

Unless it is a Court Order declaring custody it has very little value.

Re: child custody

I do not believe it will come back to bother you, however, neither you nor the baby's father has "legal custody". Therefore, the father can come take the child and there is little you can do. Get to an attorney and have legal custody granted to you so you have some amount of control.
