child sopport

i was date raped, the results of the rape was that i became pregnant. the man that raped me is aware that i was pregnant and is aware that i have had the child. he has never tried to contact me once he found out i was pregnant. i am trying to figure out if i am able to get child support, the only thing is i only know his first name and his cell phone number. is it possible to still get child support?

You would be legally entitled to child support after establishing the father's paternity, which would usually be done through DNA testing.

Of course, as strange as it seems, the father might seeks custody rights or visitation with the child.

You have the right to receive child support from the father of your child but be prepared for possible new issues with him, as Mr. Shelton suggests. A well conceived, aggressive posture would probably help you in this situation. For example, being able to point to a police report about the rape.
