Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Child Support

How much child support can I expect from my X-husband for our three kids that I have custody of? He is self- employed (lawn care) and I can't prove how much money he makes. We have no structured arrangement. Our divorce was in La. where he lives; I live in Tenn.

Re: Child Support

Unfortunately, support depends on you and your ex-husband's GROSS income. I would suggest an investigator spend 2 weeks following him around and recording every place he works. Those places will be glad to cooperate and reveal what they are paying him. Then it is figured using the chart our legislature saw fit to create. Since the kids live in Tenn. now, you can check and if Tenn. gives you more support, and you can establish jurisdiction and venue there, you should use Tenn. courts.
