Re: Child support

Has the department of social services, office of community services, been released from the case altogether? If not, ask them for help. If so, then it depends on whether you are receiving a subsidy, or other State benefits, for the children. If you are, then the state may already be collecting child support and offsetting it against the subsidy. If none of the above is your situation, find out where the Support Enforcement office is in the parish where the children were adjudicated as children in need of care, and make an appointment. There should be no charge for their filing for, and collecting support for your grandchildren.
