Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
Child Support
My husband and I divorced in 97. He was very abusive to both me and the kids. I have a disabled son by im who will be 20 next month. He is threatening to take action for visitation. He has never done anything for either of his children. Is there a statue of limitation on child support? What are his rights? Must I still honor visitation at my son's age? His dauther is 21, whom he has nothing to do with. I have a daughter that is 28, abused by him. All records are in the courts in Louisiana.

Re: Child Support
I don't know Louisiana law so you might need to also talk to a Louisiana attorney.
If no one lives in Louisiana, then the case should be transferred to where the children live.
If the kids live in Texas and the case is transferred, there is no visitation for kids after they reach 18.
However, for the disabled son, if there is a guardianship over him, then he can go to court and through the guardianship court ask for visitation.
Good luck!
