Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Child Support

My husband received a judgment stating giving up rights to see child and the mother will never in past present future ask for child support. The child just turned 17 and we were served now wanting child support. We have had NO contact with the child.

Re: Child Support

You have not provided enough information to advise you of your rights. It depends on the validity of the judgment and if and how his parental rights were terminated. It could be that the child is asserting a claim for a previously determined amount of child support order and is now trying to collect on the judgment. It would be suggested that you contact a family law attorney in your area who could review the judgment and the most recent request for child support.
