Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

child support and rights

If I filed for support for my child and one of his parents decided to take action and file for custody can I relocate befor my court day? His parent found out that I was going to relocate and had the sheriff dept to go to my parents house to serve me some papers; can this be done? Please answer my question asap.

Re: child support and rights

I guess there is no previous custody order, for it there was, you could not re-locate without permission by the father or the court. I suggest you stay put for the time being and get a local attorney to assist you with the decision.
