Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Child support and Visitation

My x-husband and kids live in Louisiana and I live in Texas now. I have been sending my x the child support checks and he has them, but is not cashing them. How should I handle this to prove that I am paying him? Also, my x is saying silly things, like ''it's not that I don't want you to see the kids, but I'm afraid that you won't bring them home''. Now, when I lived in Louisiana I had my kids every other weekend, and now the only thing I am asking for is to get them on holidays and for 8 weeks during the summer, so I can spend time with them and this actually will equally up to spending more time with my kids then I did before. What should I do about all of this?

Re: Child support and Visitation

If you have fixed visitation, rule him into court for contempt. If you do not have fixed visitation, you need to file a rule to have visittion fixed, then if he doesn't let you see the children, file a rule for contempt. With regard to the child support, many banks now will send checks for you. If your bank does this, start doing that now as the banks records will be proof that the check was sent. I know Hibernia does that, because I use it, and they have branches in Texas.

Mr. LeBlanc answered correct, except that I, personally, would not trust Hibernia to do anything right.
