Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Community property

If I put money I had prior to marriage into an account with both names on it will this money then become community property in a divorce settlement? I'm not sure the last time I asked this question I fully explained the situation.

Re: Community property

The statement I read said "If I put money I had prior to marriage into an account". With that said, is seems like you don't think the marriage will last. If that is the case, do not put it in the joint account. My opinion is if you can identify the amount and it is used to pay community debts, then you can recoup the 1/2 you paid for her expenses. Some lawyers would argue the misguided "first in first out" theory, but I disagree. You put in $10,000 and spend it on community debts, then you have a credit for the $5,000 you paid for the wife's share of the community debts.
