Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

If I have a consent judgment as to permanent spousal support from Louisiana, and there is no mention of when it ends, and the payor, my former spouse, dies, can I still collect the monthly permanent spousal support from his remaining estate, such as his car, home, investments, or personal financial accounts? If I no longer live in Louisiana, but I want to enforce or modify the amount I get, can I do this from the state I live in or does it have to be Louisiana or the state he resides in if he's still alive?
