Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My cousin has a son who is in the custody of his father and stepmom. She got her son from his father to find marks and hand prints on him. She took her son to the police they police were horrified to see the marks. They called child services that came to see the child the child told him he is beat like this all the time and the young boy is 5 he is asking for help. The child service person is friends with the young boy�s grandmother who to them nothing was going on and her son would never do that. So they will not help this child and he getting beat every day. My cousin does not have a lot of money but is desperate to get her son away from his abuse of Father and stepmother. What can she do if child services want do their job?

If the police called child services, the police made a record and should be investigating it themselves, so your cousin should return and tell them what is going on. Hard to believe child services would put their jobs at risk not to mention a child because they are friends with the grandmother. She should also contact the person at child services she spoke with and go to Baton Rouge with her complaints if she gets no answers.
