Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
cp not letting kids talk to father
Iam currently living in va but my kids(3) live in La. I have been trying to call my kids for the past 2 wks to tell two of them Happy bday, but unfortunately there mother will not allow them to answer the phone when my # comes up. the kids are 8,10,12, so they are old enough to use the phone. so when i did finally get in touch with them there mother was not at home 9pm est.so i spoke to them briefly and explain to them what there mother is doing is wrong, by not letting me communicate with my kids. i have a court order that states i am (ncp) is supposed to call the kids every Wed./Sun. so i try to live up to my end of the deal. Now that the cp is not letting me speak to my kids how can i modify this in court? Or will the tables turn to where i can file something stating to allow the kids to call me at least once or twice a wk? I am just trying to find a way to stay in touch with my kids : ( any information is greatly appreciated.

Re: cp not letting kids talk to father
I suggest you file a rule for contempt of court against her if she is not abiding by the court order. You can ask that she be punished and cast for attorney's fees. If she does not follow the court order, the court can relieve you from paying child support. I suggest you contact and attorney.
