Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

If there is no custody agreement set, and I am afraid for my child's safety because of her father's new fiance, should I have problems setting supervised visitations? He has no vehicle, a bad job, and lives with his mother who can't even afford to keep her electricity on, plus I have to send food with her to make sure that she eats. She goes every other weekend (per verbal agreement) and lately her father hasn't even asked to see her.

Why would you EVER send the child to that environment???? File for sole custody and/or supervised visitation.
