Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Custody Child displacement

My husband has a daughter 14 who came to vist IN from LA for the summer last year and ended up staying for the school year. Her mother has legal custody but at the time of her arrival to IN the mother had left our daughter and her other 3 kids with their grandmother and moved to VA. The mother returned to LA from VA but was not in a stable environement and the child was behind 3 school grades (having failed 6th grade). We enrolled her in shcool in IN and she began to see significant improvements and with summer shcool she was advanced to 7th grade. We allowed her to vist the mother during spring break 03/28-04/02 and now the mother is refusing to allow her to return to complete the school year. Which will reslut in her loosing this school year and returning to LA schools in the 6th grade if she is even alloed to enroll. Is there any legal action that can be taken to gain at least temporary custody to allow her to finish 7th grade and the school year so that she does not fall behind AGAIN? We would like full custody However our main concern is the completion of this school year to start.

Re: Custody Child displacement

You need to hire Louisiana counsel and immediately file to have the child returned to finish school.
